February 9, National Bureau of Statistics data show that in January, the national consumer price level rose by 4.5% year-on-year, consumer prices rose by 5.5%, prices of services rose by 2.2%; national consumer price level rose 1.5% month-on-month, consumer prices rose by 1.8%, prices of services rose by 0.8%.
It is estimated that among the 4.5% year-on-year increase of comsumer prices of January, there are approximately 3.0% caused by the price hikes last year, new price increase accounted for 1.5 percentage points. In all kinds of goods, clothing prices rose 3.3% year-on-year, among which, apparel prices rose 3.4%, footwear prices rose 2.8%. clothing prices declined 1.0% month-on-month, among which, apparel prices declined 1.1%, footwear prices declined 0.9%.
In January, China’s industrial producer prices rose 0.7% year-on-year (the record low increase in 26 months since the December 2009), a decline of 0.1% month-on-month. Purchasing prices of industrial producers rose 2.0% year-on-year, a decline of 0.3% month-on-month. Analysing from the various changes in product prices, the ex-factory price of industrial producers, clothing prices rose 3.1% year-on-year, clothing prices rose 0.1% month-on-month; industrial producer purchase price, textile raw materials prices rose 2.6% year-on-year, textile raw materials fell 0.3% month-on-month.
