The umbrella brand name, Marca España, which represents various Spanish brands of children’s clothing, has started to open up new markets at the China International Clothing & Accessories Fair (CHIC) which ran from March 28th – 31st at the New China International Exhibition Center in Beijing.

The Spanish Association for Children’s Products (Asepri) was invited to participate at CHIC due to the good international positioning which characterizes Spanish children’s fashion, according to Asepri.
Asepri enjoyed participating with its own stand from which to promote Spanish children’s brands, to familiarize itself first hand with the local market, obtain new clients and strengthen the presence of Spanish children’s manufacturers in this market.
During the fair the latest fashion from brands such as Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Baby, CriCri and Tutto Piccolo were displayed. In addition, and with the specific objective of internationalizing Spanish brands Asepri presented the “Marco España Corner” to large Chinese department stores and to Cheng Dapeng, vice president of the China National Garment Association, board member of the Chinese Association of Apparel and Textiles and president of CHIC itself.
Vicente Mompó, president of Asepri, underlined the interest which the Spanish children’s brands had awoken amongst manufacturers and sales outlets, as well as chain stores and malls. It was also revealed that Asepri had held a meeting with Deng Ran, president of the International Brand Agency Center de Dailan (Ibac), who was prepared to incorporate Spanish apparel brands into a showroom soon to be inaugurated In Dailan and which will exhibit other European brands.
Mompó also spoke about the efforts of Asepri to expand Spanish children’s fashion to other markets such as Mexico, Italy, UK, Russia, Japan and China. “In the current economic climate opening new markets and reinforcing our presence in other potential markets is essential”, emphasized Mompó, who also said that “Spanish children’s fashion products are well accepted in China due to their quality, innovation, design and safety and which are well adapted to children’s needs.
