Nike saw 18% growth in second fiscal quarter

Nike revealed solid growth of 18% in revenues to $5.7bn for its second fiscal quarter of 2012 ending November 30th.

Futures orders across the globe have climbed by 13 per cent, said the company. Announcing the results, president and chief executive officer of Nike Mark Parker, said: "Our strong second quarter results demonstrate that the company’s portfolio is a powerful engine for growth... Going forward we'll continue to use the unique power of our portfolio to drive growth."

Nike saw revenues grow in all geographical locations except for Japan, which is still recovering from the financial effects suffered in the March earthquake and tsunami Inventories were reported to be up 35 per cent on the comparable quarter in 2010, reaching $3.2 billion, while net income grew by three per cent to $469 million.
